ZOIDS BATTLE LEGENDS (NINTENDO GAMECUBE NGC)

Based on the toy franchise and later animated series, Zoids: Battle Legends features the player as one of 17 soldiers with different abilities, controlling one of the giant animal and dinosaur inspired robots. There are 4 main modes: Mission, Zoids Battle, VS and Zoids Fist. In the mission mode, the player chooses a side (empire or republic) and battles other giant robot Zoids in different stages, connected by cutscenes advancing the narrative. As an empire soldier, you start as Kouki, a young officer hunting down the Republicans. On the Republican side, the game begins with Shomo searching for the missing Blue Unicorn team. Most modes are pretty much the same, but Zoids Fist is played in confined spaces.

Different characters and robots are available during gameplay, and Zoids can lock onto targets to shoot, move, and use boost for quick maneuvers. Close combat is also possible, like wrestling. Each Zoid has different upgrade slots for armor, weapons, and shields. The color can also be set. The environment is destructible and can be used to your advantage, for example with sniper positions on top of buildings.
