Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward (Kyokugen Dasshutsu Adobenchā: Zennin Shibō Desu?) is a visual novel adventure video game, developed by Chunsoft and released first for Nintendo 3DS and PlayStation Vita in 2012, then for PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita and PC in Zero Escape: The Nonary Games in 2017. Its screenplay was written by Kotaro Uchikoshi, also author of the famous visual novel Ever 17: The Out of Infinity.

The game is a direct sequel to 999: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors released for Nintendo DS in 2010. It is part of the genre called “video game novel” (French term for visual novel), which is very popular in Japan. Combining a lot of dialogue with point and click phases, its originality lies in the setting up of a scenario with around twenty different endings which constitute the heart of the game's action. On this point, it also constitutes a practical application, in its own plot, of Schrödinger's cat experiment.
