The year is 2037. Ash is the leader of an elite organization of soldiers known as X-Squad. One day, he receives a cryptic message regarding an experiment known as Project Medusa. It seems that the head of the project, Dr. Bianca Noble, has been kidnapped. Ash and his three companions must uncover the truth behind the experiment and find out who was behind the attack.
X Squad is a third-person 3D team-based shooter. The player directly controls Ash; his three companions are controlled by the AI, but the player can give them general orders. Ash can crouch and roll to evade enemy fire. The gameplay is mostly action-oriented; Ash and his friends must face enemy soldiers, automatic weapons and enemy bosses. Other tasks are usually limited to pressing switches to open doors.
