World of Tanks: Xbox 360 Edition is an online multiplayer game only. It was released several years after the PC game World of Tanks. It looks a lot like the PC version, but differs in some key elements.
The main gameplay is the same, two teams of fifteen tanks compete in several different game modes. Game modes including one neutral base to take over, or two bases to defend and capture.
The player can use artillery, light tanks, medium tanks, heavy tanks and anti-tank guns from America, Nazi Germany and Great Britain. Later updates added tanks from France, Russia, China and Japan. Most tanks date from World War II, but several date from World War I or were developed during the Cold War. Tanks are divided into 10 Tiers which all have their own skill set and therefore Tier 10 tanks will never be paired with Tier 5 tanks in a game.
Unlike the PC version, players cannot choose specific tank upgrades. Instead, players purchase a package with certain upgrades, choosing at most between a defensive or offensive package. This Xbox 360 version also does not contain the same content as the PC version. Where this version offers far fewer different tanks and fewer maps. The game is free to play, but in-game micro-transactions can be performed to upgrade tanks faster or buy money, exp. or new tanks.
