Wolfenstein: The New Order is a first-person shooter released on May 20, 2014, developed by MachineGames and published by Bethesda Softworks. It also uses the id Tech 5 game engine designed by id Software.
The action of Wolfenstein: The New Order takes place in Europe in the 1960s, in an alternate universe where the Nazis won the Second World War and conquered the whole world. The player embodies a former American soldier named William “BJ” Blazkowicz who, with the support of a resistance group, makes it his mission to overthrow the Nazi regime.
Wolfenstein: The New Order will be followed by the prequel Wolfenstein: The Old Blood (2015).
