Similar to John Woo Presents Stranglehold, WET is a third-person shooter with a heavy emphasis on acrobatic stunts. While Rubi can kill enemies with her assortment of four different weapon types (two pistols with unlimited ammo, two shotguns, two submachine guns, and two crossbows) simply by walking around shooting, she doesn't do much damage this way and is very slow. Instead, she must jump, slide on the ground, or walk on walls, which instantly slows down time until she hits the ground again. During these moves, she can also use both of her weapons to automatically target one enemy while manually using the reticle to target another. For each kill she makes, she gets points, and depending on how quickly and elegantly she kills enemies, her point multiplier increases by up to x5. The multiplier is particularly important, as Rubi only regenerates health while the multiplier is active, making her nearly invulnerable once she successfully reaches and holds x5. The only other way to regenerate health is by drinking from whiskey bottles scattered throughout the levels. The points earned are used to purchase new moves or upgrade existing ones as well as her weapons. She also has access to a sword that she uses as a door opener and to take down enemies in close combat.
