Get into the cockpit of an airplane from the First World War, when there were no sophisticated weapons, and try to shoot down the enemy. As simple as that.
The graphics were faux 3D, as the planes were 2D sprites (natural, given the release date), but the sky looked very wide and you could fly freely.
