This Nintendo-exclusive version of a Need For Speed focuses on Arcade-like gameplay. Although the graphics have a comic style, the cars are licensed.
The races include classic circuit races, knockout races, time trials and races where you have to pass a certain point at the highest possible speed. The Drag- and Driftraces introduced in The Need for Speed Underground series are also here. In this part, the police are again present, offering high-speed chases with the player with the possibility to take his side as well.
New to the series are Power Ups that repair your car during an event, for example, because cars can be damaged to the point that even performance is affected.
The action takes place on public roads found in Singapore, Madrid, Cairo, Rio de Janeiro and Dubai.
