VENTURE (ATARI 2600)

Venture is an action game in which you control Winky, the heroic adventurer. Your objective is to collect as many treasures as possible which are scattered in many dungeons. In each dungeon, there are several chambers that each contain a treasure. Armed only with your crossbow, you must walk past the various creatures guarding the chamber, grab the treasure, and exit. This is made more difficult by the Guardians of the Labyrinth, who roam the hallways and will enter a chamber to chase you away if you spend too much time inside. Also, even after shooting a creature, you have to be careful because touching its corpse before it decays will still kill you. Some chambers are trickier, containing moving walls that must be avoided, or walls that suddenly disappear to unleash a pack of ferocious creatures.

When you collect the treasure from each of the chambers in a dungeon, you can then move on to the next, more difficult dungeon.
