Unreal Tournament (abbreviated UT99) is a first-person shooter video game developed by Epic Games and Digital Extremes and published by GT Interactive on PC on November 26, 1999 in the United States and from December 1999 in Europe. The game was also released on Linux in 1999, then on Macintosh by MacSoft Games on January 17, 2000. The game was finally released by Infogrames on PlayStation 2 on October 26, 2000 and on Dreamcast on March 14, 2001. Unreal Tournament is set in a science fiction universe in which the player embodies a fighter participating in a deathmatch tournament. Its single-player mode breaks with classic first-person shooters by focusing on clashes against bots in different game modes such as deathmatch, capture the flag, domination or assault.
