Total Immersion Racing is a simulation focusing on GT/GTS and PRO (prototype) class racing series. As these are official racing classes, the game only simulates circuit racing.
A whole racing race is presented to the player consisting of 14 racing cars ranging from GT/GTS and Prototypes (PRO) classes, modeled and detailed according to the real models.
12 circuits are available in total, such as Silverstone, Monza, Hockenheim and Talheimring among others.
Only a few of the tracks and cars are available upon initiation and the rest are unlocked upon completion of several races and challenges later in the game.
The player can play the game in four different modes: via Career Mode, Quick Race Mode, Time Trial Mode, and Challenge Mode.
During career mode, one must compete in a full season starting in a low-spec GT car. The objective of the career mode is to win the seasons in order to obtain contracts with better automotive teams and to be promoted in all three classes.
Challenges are unified race types, meaning they are either the same model cup races, same country of manufacture, same class, etc. Winning a challenge unlocks the next until all 30 available are won.
