Top Gun: Firestorm once again takes the player through the air in twelve missions where numerous air and ground enemies must be fought to achieve victory.
The story is very loosely based on the movie of the same name. The player guides the famous Maverick pilot through a series of realistic training missions to graduate from Top Gun School. The story is advanced in multiple frames throughout the game.
The player will pilot an F-14 Tomcat on an isometric map. He must complete several objectives in each mission. To achieve this, he has four different weapons (machine gun, bombs, rockets and missiles). The gameplay is somewhat similar to the Strike series.
