It was the first 16-bit baseball game on the market. Play alone or with a friend. Choose from one of 26 major league teams. The game uses all real city names, but statistics and player names are fictitious.
Once on the field, play follows standard baseball rules. The password feature allows you to accompany your team through a season all the way to the World Series. The game also simultaneously tracks all other teams in the league.
Batters in the game are ranked by batting average, home runs, running speed, and pitching and throwing ability. Pitchers are rated on ERA, curve throwing ability, stamina, maximum throw speed, and distance traveled by a throw. All the ratings make this game a challenge for your management ability as well as your playing skills as you call the shots from the dugout.
The options screen allows you to decide the strength of your computer opponent. You can play a pitching duel, a batting fest, or a normal game. Decide if there will be errors in the field and determine how the wind will affect the balls hit. This game pretty much covers every detail, right down to the umps that scream "safe" or "out."
