The kingdom of Albereth was under attack from barbarian forces. King Valwyn drove out the barbarians, but was wounded in battle. Looking for a place where he could rest and restore his strength, he left town - but never returned. Now a new hero must rise up and defend his homeland.
Times of Lore is an action game with light RPG elements, which follows the adventures of a young warrior (powerful barbarian, armored knight or fast valkyrie) to help a weakened kingdom against various threats and recover special artifacts which the kingdom strong.
The gameplay consists of moving the protagonist in real time (day and night) through different terrains, such as forests, cities and dungeons. The player character collects basic items, like health and magic potions, and increasingly powerful weapons as they complete tasks and advance the plot. Conversations are managed by key phrases. The battles involve a few types of creatures (skeletons, orcs, thieves) of which there can be different flavors.
