The Sky Crawlers: Innocent Aces is an aerial combat simulation game developed by Namco Bandai Games. The game was released on October 16, 2008 in Japan, exclusively for Wii.
The team of developers behind the famous Ace Combat is back with a new simulation of aerial combat on Wii. The Sky Crawlers is inspired by Mamoru Oshii's film to plunge us into an absurd war that does not say its name. Two private companies compete in this way to entertain the crowds in search of adrenaline. Your goal is indeed to ensure the show but also and above all to save your skin and that of the other members of your squad. Innocent Aces features dogfights between the Rostock Society and the Lawtern Society. The game uses the characters and the universe of the cartoon, but it is supposed to happen before this one. Even if the scenario and the cinematic sequences revealing the story are important, the game is essentially made up of aerial duels.
It was Famitsu magazine that revealed that the Namco Bandai team that developed the Ace Combat series was looking into adapting the animated film into a video game.
