The Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle-earth II is a real-time strategy video game developed by EA Los Angeles and published by Electronic Arts; it is inspired by the novels The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit by JRR Tolkien, as well as the film trilogy by Peter Jackson.

Initially, it was only supposed to be an add-on for The Battle for Middle-earth, published in 2004 by Electronic Arts, but it was later revealed that the game had moved on to an independent stage which allows you to play all the battles of the three Peter Jackson films.
