This sequel to The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel picks up a few months later. It starts with Rean waking up from a coma - then he decides to travel the continent in search of his friends.
The gameplay this time around features robot battles and you can pilot an airship mid-course. This allows you to travel wherever you want, making it a much less linear experience. Also, you can level up orb slots to equip more powerful orbs for your characters. Apart from these points, the gameplay is pretty much the same as the first one.
