The Golf Club is a simulation of the golf sports game. It is developed by HB Studios, who are known for their work on various EA Sports titles, but this title is self-published and unlicensed (players, courses, equipment), except for the name and photo of Greg Norman associated with the custom course designer portion.
The game can be played in rounds, on tour, or in tournaments. It is not possible to create custom golfers, but the outfit colors of existing golfers can be changed with a left or right swing. The game is played in a third-person view. Unlike similar games, it does not use a timer or bar to determine the power or curve of the shot. Instead, the player chooses a club and a shot type, then has the power defined by the swing made with a controller or the mouse. During play, the wind direction, elevation, and distance to the pin are displayed.
