Freed by decree of Uriel Septim VII, Emperor of Tamriel, a solitary prisoner is transported to the province of Morrowind. It seems that the strange dreams this prisoner has been having lately might have something to do with some equally strange events happening there. The protagonist is given a simple mission: to join the Blades, a secret organization whose goal is to protect the safety of the Emperor. This leads to the discovery of an ancient prophecy and an evil plan concocted by a powerful deity that only the protagonist is able to stop.

Designed in the tradition of the Elder Scrolls series, Morrowind is a fantasy role-playing game with a vast open world to explore. After being freed from a prison ship on the shores of the island of Vvardenfell, the protagonist can do more or less what they want: follow the main quest and solve the mystery of an ancient prophecy, join the one of dozens of guilds and rise in their hierarchy by completing tasks, or simply explore the gigantic island with its cities of various styles, hundreds of dungeons and tombs, ancient ruins and mighty fortresses.

Morrowind uses a two-stage skill system. The hero's primary stats (strength, etc.) increase with each level gained, while secondary abilities improve with use - for example, the more often the character jumps, the more proficient they become in the Acrobatics skill, etc. fights are simple exchanges of blows or spells, until a fighter dies. The enemy's hit points and state were not originally displayed; however, per customer request, a health bar was added for enemies as part of the first upgrade patch.
