The Conduit is a first-person shooter, set in the near future, when Washington DC is under invasion by an alien race known as the Drudge. These aliens use portals, called Conduits, to spread their forces throughout the city.
The player assumes the role of Secret Service agent Michael Ford, newly inducted into the shadow government organization Trust after saving US President Charles Thompson during an assassination attempt. Initially sent to disrupt a terrorist attack and recover stolen Trust technology, Fords soon finds himself betrayed by his employers and battling against hordes of invading Drudge.
A unique feature of the game is the Trust prototype collected at the start of the game, known as the All-Seeing Eye, which can be used to detect hidden objects and enemies, a key feature for solving puzzles in the game.
Multiplayer includes 13 multiplayer modes for online play, which include classic deathmatch and capture the flag modes, but also others such as "ASE Football", where the player who captures the seeing eye everything and holds it the longest wins.
