Super Widget is a 1993 SNES video game by Atlus. It is a Widget suite for the NES. In the game, a new alien force threatens Earth. Widget, along with his sidekick Mega-Brain, must explore the Horsehead Nebula and save the planet once again.
The game is a platform game in which Widget must travel through different planets in his quest to reach the rank of World Watcher. On these planets, Widget would have to traverse harsh terrain and collect "W" coins along the way. A hundred coins would grant Widget an extra life. In its natural state, Widget can only succumb to one hit before losing a life. However, if he could find tokens with letters embedded on them, he can transform into a more powerful creature that can take more hits. If he picks up another identical token, Widget will evolve again and take the form of an even larger creature - one that can take three hits before losing a life. If three are collected, the player will get a force field that can act as a one-hit shield.
Unlike most platforms, performance is graded on a D to S rating scale (S being the best possible rating). After conquering each level's boss, players are taken to a screen that rates the time it took to complete the level, the Watcher's battle rank, and overall experience points. Rankings have no effect on gameplay or the endgame.
