Super Off Road: The Baja is a sequel to Super Off Road. Unlike its predecessor which uses an isometric top-down view of a single-screen track, this arcade racing game is specifically designed for the SNES and uses its Mode 7 hardware for a 3D racing experience with a perspective to the 3rd person.
The game features three different tournaments, the Mexico 250, Ensenada 500, and Baja 1000. Instead of having to drive many consecutive rounds on a small circuit, the circuits are large and more like rally races with a arrival at a different place from departure. The game still plays out with plenty of opponents as well as non-participating traffic and wildlife that can get in the way of the player or be ruthlessly crushed. Along the bumpy offroad tracks, the player can collect money bags just like in its predecessor. Money can be spent on upgrades to various parts of the car, such as: brakes, tires, shocks, lights, engine, and nitros.
