Super Mario Bros. is a platform video game developed by Nintendo and released in 1985 for the Nintendo Entertainment System. It is the first game in the Super Mario series. The player controls Mario and travels through the Mushroom Kingdom to rescue Princess Toadstool from the clutches of Bowser, Mario's antagonist. The game is playable by two players, with one controlling Mario and the other controlling Mario's brother, Luigi.
