Street Fighter II: The World Warrior (Sutorîto Faitâ Tsū?) is a fighting video game developed and published by Capcom, released in 1991 on the CP System arcade system, and subject to various adaptations, the most famous of which, on Super Nintendo . The game pits multiple characters against each other in one-on-one battles. The first player to knock out his opponent twice wins the fight.

Street Fighter II features eight basic playable characters and eight different fighting styles, a fast and innovative game system, rich and varied graphics and soundtrack. Street Fighter II has established itself as the benchmark for fighting games in addition to being one of its pioneers.

The adaptation of the game on Super Nintendo alone sold 6.3 million copies. The game has sold over twelve million copies overall, making it one of the most successful games in history.
