The story revolves around two protagonists, Rianna Saren, a Twi'lek, and Zeeo, a multifunctional security droid. Rianna was sold into slavery, but eventually escaped and ended up following the criminal route. Vengeful and deadly, she has set herself the goal of revenge against the Imperial slave master. Zeeo also has a history with the Imperial Slave Ring, and after Rianna removed her retaining bolt, the two formed a deadly alliance with mercenary knowledge and skill. The plot takes place between Episode III and Episode IV. Princess Leia has a plan that would secure the future of the Rebel Alliance, and Rianna and Zeeo are perfect candidates for the job, both because of their skills and their disposition towards the Empire. They're out to steal the plans for the Empire's deadliest weapon, the infamous Death Star.
Core gameplay takes place on the top screen where you control your character from a 3rd person perspective. You can see both Rianna's health bar and Zeeo's energy level. The alliance meter fills up each time they perform cooperative actions which become more effective when the meter is filled up to lethal. In the lower display, you can see Rianna's weapons and a minimap that shows the mission objectives. Rianna's basic combat consists of a default melee weapon and a few blaster pistol variants. She can also use stationary enemy turrets.
While Rianna is a woman of action, Zeeo is one of the ways and as such can disable alarms to call in enemy reinforcements, disable shields, or unlock doors. Some of his interactions will trigger a corresponding mini-game.
The game also supports several different multiplayer modes. Survival Mode is a first-person droid shootout for up to four players across four different levels. Power Converter mode allows players to control Zeeo where the winner is the first to repair the destroyed panel. And in Virus Outbreak mode, you battle with up to three other players where one player is infected with a power-guzzling virus and must infect another player to survive, making the winner the last surviving player.
