The Romulans request permission to enter the Neutral Zone in order to search for a team of their seekers who they believe has disappeared. The USS Enterprise is sent to monitor their activities and discover their true motives.
The gameplay is divided into three parts: command the Enterprise from the bridge, control a team outside on a planetary mission and fight with other ships.
From the bridge you can control all the main functions of the ship. Conn: heading to a different planet or sector. Communication: Communicate: with other ships. Sensors: Receive information about your surroundings or the planets you orbit around. Computer: Access a database with lots of information about planets, races, technology, your crew, etc. Engineering: If the Enterprise was damaged during combat, you can use this command to allocate resources to the various parts of the ship that need to be repaired. Briefing Room: Receive orders and information on your current mission. Tactical Station: Engage in combat. Transporter: Gather a team outside and teleport them to a planet (this is only possible if your current mission requires it).
