Spyro the dragon returns for his first Game Boy Advance adventure. This time, Grendor turned all of the fairies in the Dragon Realms into blocks of ice, sending his band of Rhynoc Warriors to retrieve them and use them to stop his headache. Only Spyro's firepower, with Hunter and Sparx at hand, can save the fairies from a certain Panadol future.
Unlike the Playstation series, Seasons of Ice allows the player to control Spyro through an isometric aerial camera. However, all of Spyro's skills are still available, including his flame breath and glide. And the flying bonus levels (similar to those in the original Sonic bonus level series) use Mode 7 technology to create the 3D-like perspective (as used in Mario Kart: Super Circuit and F-Zero: Maximum Velocity) .
