SPRay is a fantasy-themed action game in which the player takes control of a young prince named Ray. The game takes place in the world of Ecoia where everyone worships the Crystal Sun which shines its protective light and energy upon the realm of light. One day, the kingdom is attacked by an evil queen of darkness who shatters the crystal and mortally wounds the king. The king's adopted son (Ray) receives the magical crown of the kingdom from his dying father. His father tells Ray that he must collect the scattered pieces of the crystal and restore it to its former glory. The crown grants Ray the help of the spirits Liad and Gush.
Liad and Gush spirits give the player the ability to spray multiple types of fluids like mud, water, vomit, and ice. These fluids can be used to kill enemies or cross obstacles. For example, to pass fire, the player must spray water. Besides the usual enemies, there are also bosses.
