Based on the film of the same name, Space Jam centers on an invasion of Looney Tunes land by tiny aliens. The fate of the Tunes is to be decided by a basketball game, and for that, the aliens transform into huge, evil Monstars.

The game is about two-thirds basketball simulation, then mini-games are inserted to fill in all the gaps. You can play as the Monstars or the Looney Tunes who have the help of Michael Jordan. Basketball games themselves come in two flavors, two on two and three on three.

Completing the mini-games improves your character's abilities on the field. There are several - one is to find MJ's basketball clothes, the other is a space race in the style of retro Micro Machines games. There are about five mini-games in all, and one player from both teams participates in them.

Multiplayer is an important aspect of the game. There is the traditional two player versus, one Tunes team, one Monstars team, and there is also the co-op mode. In this two or even three players can play in the same team. By using multiple taps, you can actually have a three-on-three game.

The Tunes list consists of Michael Jordan, Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Lola Bunny, Taz, Foghorn Leghorn, Pepé Le Pew, Sylvester, Wile E. Coyote, Porky Pig, Elmer Fudd and Yosemite Sam. Monstars have access to Pound , Bupkus, Bang, Blanko and Nawt.

There are three stats in the game, namely speed, shooting, and rebounds. These are pretty self-explanatory, but there's another more subtle one that looks like stamina. Throughout the game, your characters will tire and lose focus. A successful slam dunk usually completes this.

The closest thing the game has to a single-player mode is the Intergalactic Tournament (although it can be played in multiplayer). This is a series of five consecutive games. A captain is chosen and plays each game, while the rest of the team is replaced and removed.

There isn't really a way to progress through the game as it doesn't support memory cards. Space Jam has more of an arcade and light feel to it.
