You are Flash Gordon. Many astronauts have entered Spider City but never returned. Your job, Flash, is twofold. Rescue all the astronauts you find in the tunnels of Spider City and destroy all the hatching pods.

The lower part of the screen is a map. You are the horizontal line, the hatched pods are the vertical lines, and the disruptors are the crosses. The top of the screen is the close-up of the action.

You save astronauts by hitting them with your ship. You destroy hatching pods and hatching spider warriors by flying towards the pods and then shooting the warriors.

You can also shoot generators, patrol ships, and debris. Shooting the generator will stop the Disrupter from moving around town for a little while, but the debris never stops while you're inside, so don't hang around in the Disrupter.

If you destroy five warriors in an hatching pod or if your ship is destroyed on its return, you will have a shield for a short time. There will be two beeps to notify you of the shield's departure.

The notation is as follows:
10 points = Debris
25 points = Patroller
70 points = Spaceman saved
100 points = Disturbance generator

You get 100 points for killing the first warrior in a pod, 200 for the second, 300 for the third and so on.

You lose 1000 points if you shoot an astronaut, but Flash Gordon would never do that, right?

Each time you conquer a city, you get an extra man.
