SONY PLAYSTATION LINK CABLE SCPH-1040 PLAYSTATION PS1

The PlayStation Link Cable (SCPH-1040) is a peripheral cable for the PlayStation console. Using the input-output port on the back of most PlayStation models, it allows two consoles to be interconnected to play compatible multiplayer games.

Designed for original PlayStation models only, it is not compatible with redesigned successors, such as the PSone.

The peripheral brings the advantage of dispensing with a split screen for multiplayer, allowing each player to enjoy a full screen, and thereby increasing game performance (only one view rendered per console). However, using this cable requires two televisions, two game consoles (with their own cables), and two copies of the game being played (excluding Armored Core games: Master of Arena, Command and Conquer: Red Alert and Command and Conquer: Red Alert: Tesla Missions, since they contain two discs).
