Sonic the Hedgehog 2, also called Sonic 2, is a platform video game developed by Sega, released in 1992 on Mega Drive. It takes up the concept of its predecessor Sonic the Hedgehog by offering four main changes: the addition of a two-player mode, the presence of Tails, the appearance of the Spin Dash and the possibility of becoming Super Sonic. The game was converted with a different level design on Master System and Game Gear (cf. Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (8 bit)).
