SimCity for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) features the same gameplay and storyline features; however, since it was developed and published by Nintendo, the company incorporated its own ideas. Instead of the monster Godzilla, Bowser from the Super Mario series becomes the attacking monster, and once the city reaches 500,000 inhabitants, the player receives a Mario statue that can be placed around the city.
