In Shockwave, you must collect powerful crystals left behind by the Tarian race. The Rastons also search for the crystals, which limits the time of the mission. You are only armed with a spacesuit and a shockwave gun. To collect the crystals, you will have to make your way through many mazes. Maze blocks can be moved with the Shockwave Gun. When you hit a block with the gun, it will move blocks adjacent to the hit block rather than the block itself. If many blocks are lined up, the shock wave will continue to pass through the blocks until the path is cleared and a block can be moved. Some blocks are indestructible and unmovable, while others can be moved, and some completely destroyed. Teleport gates, force fields, and other special items can be found in some mazes. To complete most levels, the blocks will need to be moved in the correct order to avoid leaving a critical path permanently blocked. If you get stuck, there is an option to restart a maze (this feature becomes more useful as the game progresses.) FireStars wandering around many levels will weaken your spacesuit and eventually destroy it . Each level has a time limit to solve the maze and collect all the crystals.
