Shaun White Snowboarding: Road Trip is a separate version of the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions called Shaun White Snowboarding. Making full use of the Wii Balance Board accessory, Road Trip lets players hit the slopes more dynamically. Using the Balance Board as a virtual snowboard, players can navigate the various tracks and perform tricks and other techniques such as carving, grinding and speed boosting.
As with many snowboard games, there are many riders with various skills and abilities to unlock and choose from. But the particularity of this title is the choice of a companion cameraman. This second character films your run behind you and also provides a special momentary power-up. It can be a Speed Boost, Jump Boost or Trick Boost etc.
During your road trip, you will visit many places and continents. In a sense, you're following the trail of Shaun White himself. This is demonstrated when it makes occasional calls to your cell phone and informs you of its new location. You are physically one place behind it and you have to complete certain races and objectives in order to move on to the next place, be it in Canada, Japan, Switzerland and many other exotic and snowy places.
The game also supports play without the use of the Balance Board and requires motion input from the Wii Remote. Various moves correspond to certain tricks and maneuvers while button combinations change moves for more advanced trick techniques.
