In Outtrigger, you play as a member of the "International Counter-Terrorism Special Force (Interforce)", formed by "Visitaria", a multinational military and space products company. Your objective is to defend yourself against terrorist attacks.
You can select one of four predefined players, which differ in speed, armor and weapons, or you can create a custom character. The game itself doesn't offer any scenarios, instead you can choose one of three modes: Arcade, Mission or Versus. In all modes, you find yourself in one of many small arenas after starting the game. Usually your objective is to kill a certain number of terrorists within a limited time (or your friends in Versus mode).
Gameplay is similar to Quake 3 Arena, especially in terms of game speed and (configurable) controller key assignments.
