Romance of the Three Kingdoms ("Records of the Three Kingdoms") is a series of turn-based tactical simulation strategy games produced by Koei. Originating in Japan in 1985, fourteen episodes of the game have been released to date in Japan, Taiwan, China, South Korea, and North America. While the title of the game as released in English refers to the historical novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms by Luo Guanzhong, the title as released in Japan and Chinese regions refers to the historical text Records of the Three Kingdoms by Chen Shou.
