RIVER RAID (ATARI 2600)

River Raid is a vertical scrolling action game. You pilot a jet on a river with the aim of destroying vital bridges for the enemy. The river is heavily guarded, however, with enemy balloons, ships, helicopters, and planes trying to stop you. Along the way, you'll need to fly over gas stations to refuel your jet and keep flying.

The plane is armed with a cannon with unlimited ammo. It can be used to destroy enemy vehicles and bridges, but a careless player can accidentally destroy a gas station. Colliding with the banks or with the enemy plane destroys your plane and causes you to lose a life.
