Resident Evil Zero, typeface Resident Evil Ø, known in Japan as Biohazard Ø, is a survival horror video game developed by Capcom Production Studio 3 and published by Capcom for the Nintendo GameCube in 2002. It was released in Europe on March 7, 2003. The game is subsequently published in the "Players' Choice" range.
Resident Evil Zero is a prequel to the first episode of the series. The storyline takes place on the eve of the events chronicled in Resident Evil, it covers the trials experienced in the Arklay mountains by the STARS Bravo team. The gameplay remains similar to the other episodes of the series but includes an innovation called "Partner Zapping". The player controls both STARS agent Rebecca Chambers and death row criminal Billy Coen, and can switch between the two characters at any time in order to solve puzzles and take advantage of their unique abilities.
