Pokémon HeartGold (Poketto Monsutā HātoGōrudo?, Pocket Monsters HeartGold) and Pokémon Argent SoulSilver (Poketto Monsutā SouruShirubā?, Pocket Monsters SoulSilver) are both versions of a role-playing video game developed by Japanese company Game Freak. Announced on May 8, 2009, they were published on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the release in Japan of Pokémon Gold and Silver on Game Boy Color of which they are remakes. The game's storyline is the same as those versions with new elements incorporated into the storyline, as well as features from the Pokémon Diamond and Pearl and Pokémon Platinum games, similar to Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen. The graphics, adapted to the capabilities of the Nintendo DS, approach those of Pokémon Platinum. Pokémon Gold HeartGold and Argent SoulSilver were released in France on March 26, 2010.
