An evil magician throws a party of teenagers, uses his powers to load all their cars onto his trailer and turn them into toy cars themselves. Friends Hannah, Claire, Vicky, Roger and Mitch must break free by racing pocket cars on tracks, where winning races are rewarded with Soul Gems and Soul Shards that can bring them back to their original form human.
The races are grouped into different soul challenges with identical gameplay but different settings like a garden or a bathroom. Since the cars are very small, the roads are loaded with huge objects such as bottles and household appliances. The tracks have shortcuts, jumps and slopes, as well as power-ups that destroy the environment, provide rockets or freeze the opponent's car. There are four camera perspectives (all third person) and a button to reset the car when it pulls away from the track.
Alongside Soul Races, there are Time Trial and Practice modes. The parking lot has many vehicle models with different stats, liveries and decals. Most of them still need to be unlocked at the start of the game. Besides single-player games, there are online game modes with game modes like racing, soccer, and domination.
