PLANTS VS ZOMBIES (XBOX 360 X360)

Plants vs. Zombies belongs to the "tower defense" subgenre of casual games, where the objective is to deploy a series of stationary weapons to protect a structure against hordes of enemies. Plants provide artillery and can be purchased with solar power, the in-game currency. Enemies are zombies invading a suburban lawn. At the start of each level, the player begins to plant the available seeds on the lawn strategically. Zombies slowly start to appear from the street on the right side, a few at first, and need to be destroyed before they can reach the house on the other side. Solar energy icons fall from the sky randomly and must be collected with the mouse to increase funds. Sunflower can be planted to generate additional units of solar energy but has no attack power against invading undead. Besides their cost, seed packs take a while to recharge after being used.

There are several types of offensive plants available. Peashooters are the basic variety, spitting a projectile forward every few seconds. Variants appear later in the game, firing multiple peas at once and freezing enemies, causing them to move slower. The carnivorous plant engulfs a zombie when it approaches with its gaping mouth, but takes a while to do so, becoming ineffective when busy digesting the corpse. The Cherry Bomb explodes after being deployed, charring all undead surrounding its landing spot. The Potato Mine is half buried with a sensor that protrudes from the top and explodes when one of the undead steps on it. Plants can be removed with the shovel to make room for new ones.
