PGA Tour Golf has introduced many conventions commonly seen in the genre ever since. The three-click method of control (first to start the swing, second to set power and overshoot, third to set draw or fade) allowed for a multitude of different shots and required a sense of timing.
Four courses are included, one of them is a fantastic 'links' course designed by the programmers. Some of the holes are fiendish, with bunkers, water hazards and trees, and the need to plan strategies to get the best approach to the green.
During a tournament, there are 60 opponents, each representing the best American golfers - ten of them appear in the game, one of whom provides tactical advice for each hole.
