This golf game is another entry in the Electronic Arts PGA Tour Golf series.
Players can choose to play as one of fourteen professional golfers such as Fuzzy Zoeller and Jim Gallagher Jr. or choose to create their own golfer by giving them a name and choosing what their golfer looks like from the few portraits available.
Players can then select the type of game mode they wish to play. Game modes allow the player to practice a round of golf, enter a tournament, have a shootout, or participate in a Skins game.
The game offers two 18-hole golf courses to play on. Both platform versions of this game include the Sawgrass Golf Course, each of which also includes a unique golf course. The Playstation version includes the Spanish Bay links, while the Saturn version includes the Spyglass Hill course.
Once on the course, the player selects the club he wishes to use. They can also adjust the angle, pitch and backspin of the ball before taking a swing. They must then aim where they want their shot to go. When firing, players have to contend with the "Target Arc" power bar interface which affects the speed and accuracy of each shot. This meter also takes into account the players' risk in their shot by determining how difficult it would be to make the shot. Daring moves are rewarded while risky moves are not.
The game also features TV-style commentary and several different camera angles, including picture-in-picture.
