The game is based on the hit Japanese anime Sorcerous Stabber Orphen, (released outside of Japan as Orphen). Orphen, his apprentice Majik, his traveling companion Cleo and his pet dog/magical wolf Leki, and the two mischievous trolls Volkan and Dorton, sail to the mysterious Isle of Chaos in search of riches. Also on the journey are three strangers whose fates draw Orphen and his companions on their mysterious journey. Only the mighty dark wizard Orphen (in his bewildered way) can uncover the connections between the three strangers and the powers that rule the island, and keep himself and his companions alive long enough to find a way out. the short-lived Chaos Island. .
Orphen: Scion of Sorcery is an action game with some light RPG elements. Orphen is a dark wizard and attacks his enemies with various spells, including a magic sword and elementals. The game is played in third person looking over Orphen's shoulder. You will run, jump and explore your way through large levels on Chaos Island in varied environments; engage in boss battles that require you to use certain puzzle-solving and timing skills; and improve your black magic. Once beaten, the game encourages replay by following branching story lines that weren't taken in the previous playthrough. The game retains the feeling of anime, especially in character design and pleasant dialogues. Orphen: Scion of Sorcery is fully voiced.
