You play as a Trashman, a bounty hunter paid to capture criminal scum lurking on harsh alien worlds.
Your job is to race the enemy crime boss to the finish, blasting his henchmen along the way. Get blown up or drive too slow and the boss runs away. But if you get to the checkpoint in time, you block the boss' escape and trap him on the planet.
You can upgrade your vehicle with your bonus money. You can also take on a friend in the vertical split-screen deathmatch mode.
The most unique feature of Off-World Interceptor is the storyline, told in animated video. Standard for the time. But OWIE's FMV is mocked by a few guys sitting in chairs at Mystery Science Theater 3000.
