NINJA KID NINTENDO NES

Based on a Japanese animated television series, Ninja Kid is a side-scrolling action game where the eponymous kid must jump and shoot through a series of different levels in order to complete their quest. Matching levels include Poison Field, Guerrila Warfare, and Blazing Inferno. Although armed with ninja balls by default, he sometimes has the ability to pick up other offensive items such as ninja stars, boomerangs, or fireballs. Enemies obstructing Ninja Kid's quest include rolling eyeballs, crows, flying demons, Frankenstein's monsters and, of course, other ninjas.

The game starts in an overhead map which allows the player to wander through different side-scrolling levels. Levels continue until the player completes a particular task which spawns a door. Going through the door sometimes leads outside the air map and sometimes leads to a boss battle.
