Following the award-winning NHL 98, EA has been working to improve what was considered one of the most comprehensive ice hockey games on the market. Along with the usual, almost obligatory updates to the NHL roster, the international mode first introduced in the previous version has been expanded, allowing players to choose IIHF rules and rink size.
