NHL 13 is the 22nd installment in Electronic Arts' long-running ice hockey series. The game introduced the EA Sports Hockey IQ system, which allowed AI players to make decisions based on the situation throughout the rink, not just in their immediate vicinity. The Be A GM mode was available for online play and came with a mobile app. The scoring system and skating physics were also improved, and the right analog stick now allows the player to anticipate a save when controlling their goalie.
