Nerf N-Strike Elite, the sequel to Nerf N-Strike, is an on-rails shooter where the player can select his hero from among four N-Strike Elite agents, each equipped with a specific gun to fire Elite darts at. an army of malicious robots. These are also the only projectiles enemies will fire. The main thing about the game is the variety of weapons: more than 25 weapons can be useful to intrepid agents, some of which can be purchased, others must be unlocked in different ways; moreover, they are all capable of being customized and improved by power-ups.
In addition to the story mode, there's Blasting Range, a score attack mode played over a brief course. Some areas are only available when playing two-player co-op; up to four players can join the adventure.
Commands are given by the Wii Remote or by a supplied blaster, the Nerf Switch Shot Ex-3 which houses the Wii Remote. This is an upgraded version of the blaster that came with the previous iteration of the series: a red decoder lens attached to it will reveal otherwise invisible gameplay elements such as hidden passages and enemy weak points.
